PM Modi arrives in Brazil after Nigeria, receives warm welcome at airport; will participate in the G20 summit

G20 Brazil Summit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on Monday to participate in the 19th G20 Summit. This is the second leg of his three-nation visit, during which he will attend the 19th G20 Leaders’ Summit to be held in Brazil on November 18 and 19. On his arrival in Brazil, he was welcomed by Indian representatives led by Indian Ambassador Suresh Reddy. Let us tell you that after completing the tour of Nigeria, PM Modi reached the South American country of Brazil. In Nigeria he held bilateral talks with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and interacted with the Indian community.

PM Modi made a post on X after arriving in Brazil. In his post, he said he was looking forward to meeting various global leaders at the summit. In a post on Twitter, PM Modi said, “Has landed in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to attend the G20 Summit. I look forward to the summit discussions and meaningful interactions with various global leaders.” Along with this, he also shared pictures of his reception at the airport.

A warm welcome at the airport

When PM Modi arrived in Brazil, NRIs gave him a warm welcome. They were seen waving the Indian flag and pictures of the Prime Minister. “We are excited for this moment. We wanted to meet the leader of one of the largest democracies in the world,” said an NRI speaking to ANI ahead of PM Modi’s arrival. Another member said it was an honor to see the PM. “It’s an honor to see them in person. It’s a proud moment for us,” he said.

PM Modi’s visit to Brazil

PM Modi will participate in the 19th G20 Summit as a member of the Troika during his visit to Brazil. India is part of the G20 Troika along with Brazil and South Africa. Along with PM Modi Modi, Chinese President Xi Jinping and his US counterpart Joe Biden will be among the leaders attending the Rio de Janeiro summit on November 18-19. PM Modi said in his departure statement on Saturday, “This year, Brazil has created India’s legacy. I look forward to fruitful discussions keeping in mind our vision of ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’.” This opportunity.”

Tour of Nigeria and Guyana

Earlier during his visit to Nigeria, PM Modi was honored with the country’s national award, the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON). This was the 17th international award given to PM Modi by any country. Apart from PM Modi, Queen Elizabeth II is the only other foreign dignitary to be honored with the GCON. After Brazil, in the third and final leg of his visit, PM Modi will visit Guyana from November 19 to 21 at the invitation of President Mohammad Irfan Ali. This will be the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Guyana in over 50 years. (with agency inputs)
