Police Registers First e-FIR via Email in Awantipora

Srinagar, Feb 26, KDC: Police Station Khrew in Awantipora PD of South Kashmir has registered its first-ever electronic First Information Report (e-FIR) after receiving a complaint via email.

In a post on X, District Police Awantipora stated, “Awantipora Police registers its first-ever e-FIR following a complaint lodged via email.”

According to a police spokesperson, the complaint was filed by Mushtaq Ahmed Bhat, a resident of New Colony Khrew, against Adil Ahmad Bhat and Bilal Ahmad Bhat, both residents of the same locality.

The complainant alleged that his entire family was assaulted, resulting in injuries. He supported his complaint with an OPD ticket from PHC Khrew and a copy of his Aadhaar card as proof.

Acting on the complaint, police registered an e-FIR under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Police Station Khrew. (KDC)
