Polling guru Nate Silver criticizes Kamala Harris’ campaign for blaming Hurricane Helen for election loss

Advisors to Kamala Harris’ campaign offered many excuses for Harris’ defeat without admitting any fault on her part.

In her first interview since Kamala Harris’s election defeat, the campaign put her foot in the mouth and made outlandish statements pointing to the campaign’s fault in the VP’s election loss. In short, they said they had little time for preaching, and then came the storm; the difficulty of removing Kamala Harris from the Biden administration; And so on and so forth. David Plouffe, a consultant to Kamala Harris’s campaign, also said that his internal polls never projected Kamala Harris ahead of Donald Trump and so he was surprised when external polls painted a rosy picture for Harris.
The interview was a misfire as people could see how the campaign was not in control of Kamala Harris. Polling guru Silver Net, who predicted Donald Trump would win a close battle, but then abandoned his model during the polls because it didn’t come close, said Harris campaign advisers appeared to be the most unagented people.

“They don’t even see themselves as victims as much as non-player characters without their own volition,” Silver wrote.
“The hurricane was the big October surprise that was especially strange to the beleaguered Harris,” Silver wrote. “Relatively speaking, NC/GA also showed lower vote swings than other swing states.”
The podcast has made things even more ambiguous for Kamala Harris who is trying to become a race. After vacationing in Hawaii, Kamala Harris released a video reassuring her supporters but was mocked for her disheveled and broken look. The VP has asked his allies to keep his options open for the 2026 California guv race or the 2028 presidential race.

Explosive claims by Harris campaign in first interview since election defeat

> Kamala Harris’ campaign said they wanted the vice president to interview for Hot Ones. But the show refused to interview him.
> They said they only had 107 days and then the hurricane came, talking about how she didn’t do interviews which they claimed was wrong because Harris was doing plenty of interviews on her own.
> They said internal polls never showed Kamala Harris leading Trump and were therefore surprised by external poll predictions.
