Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra met Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday. Meanwhile, many Lok Sabha members from Kerala also met Amit Shah along with him. Meanwhile, Priyanka Gandhi requested Amit Shah to help the people affected by the landslide in Wayanad. The meeting was held in Amit Shah’s office located in the Parliament Building complex. MPs from Kerala-affiliated Congress, IUMM and RSP were present during this meeting. After meeting Amit Shah, Priyanka Gandhi told reporters, ‘We have met the Home Minister and briefed him about the situation in Wayanad. Due to the landslide, the life of the people there has been greatly affected and their homes and families have also been destroyed. They have no support system left.

Priyanka Gandhi said, ‘If the central government does nothing in such a situation, what will people expect. We have appealed to the Union Home Minister to help the people of Wayanad affected by the landslide. The Congress General Secretary said that when Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the victims there, people were hoping for help, but so far they have not received any help. A landslide occurred in Wayanad in the month of July this year, causing massive destruction, which resulted in the death of many people in the incident.

Meanwhile, Priyanka Gandhi said that a large area of Wayanad has been affected due to the disaster. Many people have died in this incident. Some families have been completely destroyed. He said that in such a situation, if the central government does not give any relief, it sends a wrong message. He said that after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the disaster affected areas, people were hopeful that they would get some help from the Centre. But even after 4 months they have not received any help from the Centre. Meanwhile, he said that there are children in Wayanad who have lost every member of their family. If they cannot go to the Government of India, to whom can they go?
