Raghav Chadha demanded to give Bharat Ratna to Bhagat Singh, saying- ‘It has been 93 years since his martyrdom but…’

New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party MP Raghav Chadha has demanded to award the Bharat Ratna to freedom fighter and icon of revolution Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh as the country’s highest honour. Chadha on Wednesday recalled the sacrifices and contributions of Bhagat Singh in Parliament and requested the government to honor him with the Bharat Ratna. He said, ‘Bhagat Singh sacrificed his youth, his dreams and his entire life for the freedom of this country. It has been almost 93 years since his martyrdom, but even today we have not been able to give him his due respect.

‘Bhagat Singh’s contribution is priceless’

Talking about Bhagat Singh, Raghav Chadha said, ‘I consider Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh Ji as my role model. He was the true son of Mother India. His revolutionary thinking and indomitable enterprise not only challenged the British rule but also inspired future generations to fight for freedom. His revolutionary speeches shook the British. Bhagat Singh sacrificed himself for the country at the age of 23 only. His life and martyrdom are still a source of inspiration for the youth. Even the highest mountains of the British Empire bowed before his courage.

‘The Real Pride of Bharat Ratna’

Raghav Chadha asserted, ‘If Bhagat Singh is given the Bharat Ratna, it will add to his honor as well as the dignity of this award. This would be a powerful step to not only honor, but recognize their sacrifice. The AAP MP expressed his heart through a poem. He said, ‘I am writing the results of which will start tomorrow, every drop of my blood will bring revolution. Whether I live or not, this is my promise to you, after me there will be a flood of people dying in this land. Chadha said that Bhagat Singh was not only a freedom fighter but also a role model for the youth of India.

Chadha appealed to the government

A senior Aam Aadmi Party leader said, ‘His thoughts and his life teach us how we should work for our country. In today’s times when the world is changing so fast, Bhagat Singh’s thoughts can show us the right path. Concluding his speech with the slogan of Incalab Zindabad, Chadha said, ‘The government should not delay in taking this step. If this work is done then future generations of India will bless this great house.
