Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued several weather warnings for the week, with a well-marked low pressure area over the south-eastern Bay of Bengal and the eastern equatorial Indian Ocean warning of heavy rain and fog at various places. , according to IMD, Coastal Tamil Nadu and Puducherry will experience heavy to very heavy rains from November 25-27, heavy rains are expected at isolated places on November 28.
Rain in Tamil Nadu
The low pressure system, currently influenced by the upper air circulation, is forecast to intensify into a depression over central South Bay of Bengal around November 25. As it moves closer to the Tamil Nadu-Sri Lanka coast, Chennai is expected to witness heavy rainfall. Rain on 27 and 28 November. The Regional Meteorological Center (RMC) has issued an orange alert for delta districts including Chennai and surrounding areas from November 25-28.
Rainfall in Andhra Pradesh
Heavy rainfall has been issued in certain districts like Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Myladuthurai and Karaikal on November 25 and 26. Pudukkottai is also likely to receive significant rainfall on November 26. Officials and residents are advised to be vigilant. Severe conditions are likely to occur due to the weather system in the coming days. The IMD has also issued a rainfall advisory for coastal Andhra Pradesh, forecasting light to moderate rain at many places and heavy rain at isolated places from November 27-28.
Fog Alert in North India
Dense fog conditions are expected to hamper visibility in the northern states especially during the morning hours. IMD has issued a fog warning for Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh for November 27-29. Dense fog is expected in Himachal Pradesh till November 28, while Uttar Pradesh may witness similar conditions from November 28-30. Residents of affected areas are advised to take precautions and plan accordingly, as the weather may affect travel and daily activities.
