Rajasthan: Nine trainee SIs dismissed over exam paper leak

Jaipur, March 4 (IANS) Nine trainee sub-inspectors (SIs), including three women, have been dismissed from service in Jodhpur following their involvement in the SI Recruitment Exam-2021 paper leak scandal.

The Special Operations Group (SOG) had registered a case against them for using dummy candidates to clear the exam.

They were arrested on March 3, 2024, and later released on bail. The SI Recruitment Exam-2021 was compromised due to a leaked question paper, and the investigation revealed that several candidates used proxies to take the exam on their behalf.

The SOG arrested nearly 50 trainee SIs, of whom 25 have been granted bail by the High Court. Similar actions were taken in Bikaner and Kota, where five more trainee SIs, including two women, were dismissed.

Among them, three had used dummy candidates, while two had cleared the exam using unfair means. Dismissal orders for these officers were also issued Tuesday evening. This crackdown highlights the state government’s commitment to maintaining transparency and integrity in recruitment processes. Authorities are expected to continue their probe, and more actions could follow, said officials.
