Reserve Bank of India Governor Shaktikanta Das has reportedly been admitted to a hospital in Chennai after experiencing ‘acidity’.

“Shri Shaktikanta Das, Governor of the Reserve Bank of India, experienced acidity and was admitted to the Apollo Hospital in Chennai for observation,” a Reserve Bank of India spokesperson said.

“He is doing well now and will be discharged in the next 2-3 hours. There is no cause for concern,” an RBI spokesperson said.

Medical Bulletin on RBI Governor

Apollo Hospital, Chennai released a medical bulletin giving an update on the health of Shaktikanta Das.

“Reserve Bank of India Governor Shri Shaktikanta Das experienced acidity last night and was admitted to Apollo Hospital in Chennai for observation. He is now doing well and there is no cause for concern,” the hospital said in a statement.
