Russia Ukraine War: Russia Strikes Ukraine, Shoots Down British ‘Storm Shadow’ Missiles

Russia Ukraine War: The war between Russia and Ukraine is taking a dangerous turn. After the US weapons, now Ukraine has attacked Russia with the British ‘Storm Shadow’ cruise missile. Meanwhile, Russia has said it has destroyed two British-made ‘Storm Shadow’ missiles.

What the Russian Ministry of Defense said

The Russian Defense Ministry said on Thursday that its air defense system had destroyed two British-made ‘Storm Shadow’ missiles, six HIMARS rockets and 67 drones. The announcement was made at a daily briefing by the ministry on “special military operations” in Ukraine. It did not say when and where the incident took place or at whom the missiles were fired.

Russia has destroyed missiles before

This is not Moscow’s first public announcement to dismantle British-made ‘Storm Shadow’ missiles. Russia has previously talked about destroying some of these missiles in its occupied Crimea peninsula.

Russia attacked with ICBM missiles

Meanwhile, Ukraine has said that Russia used an intercontinental missile (ICBM) for the first time in the war last night, targeting the Ukrainian city of Dnipro. The Ukrainian Air Force said in a statement on Telegram on Thursday that it was fired from Russia’s Astrakhan region. The war has taken on a more international dimension as North Korean troops arrived to aid Russia on the battlefield.
