Dan Patterson achieved the feat of taking 5 wickets in Tests at the age of 35 years and 245 days. With this, he became the fourth fastest bowler in South African cricket history to take 5 wickets over the age of 35. This is the first time since 1966 that a South African fast bowler over the age of 35 has dismissed 5 batsmen in a Test innings. Earlier in the year 1966, Trevor Goddard achieved this great achievement against Australia.
