A case of theft worth crores from a house has come to light. It was stolen from a businessman’s house in Vallapattanam by a gang of thieves in Kerala’s Kannur district. Thieves entered the house and stole Rs 1 crore cash and 300 gold coins. Police gave this information on Monday.
The family moved from Kannur to Madurai.
According to the police, the theft took place when the businessman and his family had gone to Madurai in Tamil Nadu to attend a wedding. He said the incident of theft came to light when the businessman’s family returned home on Sunday night and found that the valuables kept in the locker were missing.
The thief entered the house by cutting the grill
Police sources said that all the people of the house were out of the house since November 19. It is suspected that the thief entered the house by cutting the kitchen window grill. In the CCTV footage, three people can be seen climbing the wall and entering the house.
Fingerprints taken from thieves
A relative of the victim’s family told the media that cash, gold and other valuables were kept locked in a cupboard. His key was kept in another room. A team of police and fingerprint experts reached the house and collected evidence and a massive search operation was launched to nab the accused.
