The nature of the Russia Ukraine war changed, after American weapons, Ukraine now attacked Moscow with British cruise missiles

Kiev: The Russia-Ukraine war has now taken a new turn. Ukraine has reshaped the nearly two-and-a-half-year-old war by seeking permission from current President Joe Biden to attack Russia with foreign weapons before Trump took office. After the American weapons, Ukraine launched a major attack on Russia on Wednesday with a British Storm Shadow cruise missile. This has angered Russian President Putin. By allowing Ukraine to use Western weapons against Russia, Joe Biden has increased the risk of World War III.

Ukraine fired British cruise missiles at Russia on Wednesday. However, Russia claimed to have killed most of them. After American weapons, this is Britain’s new western weapon against Russia. Ukraine’s latest attack on Russia comes just 2 days after the US fired ATACMS missiles at Moscow. Because Britain has also been given permission to use its missiles on Russian targets in Ukraine a day after the American missile attack.

Fear of war worsening

After this move by America and Britain, Ukraine attacked Russia with Western weapons, and there are fears that the war will escalate. The attack was widely reported by Russian war correspondents on Telegram. An official confirmed the new attack on condition of anonymity. However, a spokesman for the General Staff of Ukraine said he had no information. After the attack, Moscow has said that the use of Western weapons to attack Russian territory far from the border is inviting a major escalation in the conflict. While Kiev says it now needs the ability to defend itself by attacking Russian targets in the war, which entered its 1,000th day this week.

A missile attack was heard

Russian war correspondents posted a video on Telegram that they said included the sound of missiles striking the Kursk region, which borders northeastern Ukraine.
At least 14 large explosions were heard, most of which were preceded by the sharp whistle of an incoming missile. In a video shot in a residential area, black smoke can be seen billowing far and wide. The pro-Russian Two Measures channel on Telegram said Ukraine had fired 12 storm shadows in the Kursk region and clearly showed images of fragments of missiles called storm shadows.

A spokesman for British Prime Minister Keir Starmer declined to comment.

Britain had previously given Ukraine permission to use Storm Shadows, which have a range of more than 250 km (155 mi) inside Ukrainian territory. The Kiev government is pressing Western partners for permission to use such weapons to attack targets inside Russia. Two months before Biden leaves office in January 2025, full approval to use ATACMS was received from the US president this week.
