England are currently on tour to New Zealand for a three-match Test series, having won the first match in Christchurch by 8 wickets. The second match of the series will be played at Wellington, for which England have announced their playing XI. The England team has made a big decision regarding its playing XI for this match, Ollie Pope will also be seen holding the wicketkeeper duty in this match, while Jacob Bethel will get an opportunity to play at the number-3 position.
Bethel proved it all in the second innings
When Jacob Bethell was named in England’s playing XI for the Christchurch Test match, everyone felt that no decision had been taken quickly. The 21-year-old managed to score just 10 runs after facing 34 balls in the first innings. But after this he showcased his talent in the second innings and bounced back with a half-century off just 37 balls to help England win the match.
Due to the long gap between the first and second Test, England fast bowler Braden Carrs, who took 10 wickets in the first match, is also part of the playing eleven. England will also field key spinner Shoaib Bashir in the Wellington Test match. Joe Root’s performance will also be in focus for England in this Test match, in which he could only score 23 runs in both innings of the first match.
