Former Rajya Sabha MP Mohammad Adeeb has made a statement which has started an uproar. Indeed, a gathering of Muslim intellectuals was sitting in Delhi, the capital of the country. Many scholars and scholars were sitting in it. The great Maulana Ikram was present. Chairman of All India Muslim Personal Law Board and other officers were present. The Majlis was against the Waqf Amendment Bill. Discussions were taking place here and apprehensions were being expressed that Muslims would be deprived of their properties due to the Waqf Bill. In the same speech, former Rajya Sabha MP Mohammad Adib mentioned history. Mohammad Adeeb said that it was the grace of Muslims that Pakistan’s border remained till Lahore, otherwise it would have been Lucknow. Now an uproar has started over his statement.
Many leaders were present on the platform
Where this was being said in the national capital, Delhi, General Secretary Fazlur Rahim Mujadidi was also present on the stage at the conference along with All India Muslim Personal Law Board President Khalid Saifullah Rahmani. Hazrat Maulana Abu Talib Rahmani, Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Imran Pratapgarhi. Amarin Mahfooz Rahmani, Samajwadi Party leader and Rampur MP Maulana Mohibullah Nadvi and Karnataka Rajya Sabha MP Syed Naseer Hussain were present. But no one objected to this statement. Not only this, the same speech targeted the BJP without naming the Babri Masjid.
Provocative statements were also made in the meeting
The JPC is currently debating the Waqf Amendment Bill. It is yet to be brought to the House. But even before that, the atmosphere is being created to intimidate the Muslims. In the meeting, Maulana Umrain Mahfooz Rahmani made a provocative statement and said that laying hands on the mosque was an invitation to revenge.
Why was Maulana angry?
The Muslim Personal Law Board has opposed the bill in the JPC. Many political parties are also opposing it. But committee chairman Jagdambika Pal is going to the ground with seats and talking to people affected by this bill. This move has further angered the Maulanas.
