There is a huge uproar over fertilizer in UP and MP, farmers are upset by long queues and create ruckus.

Lucknow/Bhopal: Farmers in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh are very distressed due to non-availability of fertilizers. The situation is so bad that farmers are not getting fertilizer despite standing in line since morning. In such a situation, angry farmers are creating a ruckus from Lucknow in UP to Tikamgarh in Madhya Pradesh. Farmers fear that if they don’t get fertilizer, their crops will be ruined. Long queues of farmers are seen outside the cooperative centres. The farmers alleged that the officials of the committee are black-marketing the fertilizer and this is the reason that even after waiting for a whole day, not even a single bag of fertilizer could be found.

Allegations of black marketing against committee members

Farmers who came to collect fertilizer created a ruckus in the cooperative society of Aslam Nagar located in Mohanlalganj, Lucknow, the capital of UP. Angry farmers are accusing committee members and babus of black market. In Nagaram, farmers made such a commotion at the cooperative center that it had to be closed. In fact, 300 bags of fertilizer arrived at the center after about a week and about 1200 farmers took it. Let us tell you that 90 lakh metric tonnes of DAP is required in UP but currently only 40 metric tonnes is available. Politics has also started over fertilizer shortage. The Samajwadi Party alleges that the farmers are troubled under the BJP government.

Madhya Pradesh also has a severe shortage of fertilizer

Farmers say this is the season for sowing wheat, mustard and potatoes. He says that everyone needs fertilizer, but it is not available in the required quantity. In Madhya Pradesh’s Tikamgarh too, farmers facing shortage of fertilizer created an uproar. Farmers are upset over the prolonged non-availability of fertilizer at the cooperative center in Palera town of Tikamgarh district, and their anger turned into an uproar on Monday. Farmers alleged that they are suffering for many days but they are not getting fertilizer on time due to which sowing is not possible.
