The 18th season of the Indian Premier League i.e. IPL is scheduled to be played in the year 2025, before which the mega auction will be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on November 24 and 25, for which preparations are being made very fast. This time a total of 1574 players, including Indian and foreign players, had registered their names for the mega auction, after which the names of the shortlisted players have now been announced and a total of 574 players have been included in the mega auction. Among them, 12 players have been included in the list of marquee players. While 7 players from India are included in this, 5 foreign players have made it.
Names range from Rishabh Pant to Shreyas Iyer
Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, Arshdeep Singh, Yuzvendra Chahal, KL Rahul, Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj are among the Indian players who have made it to the list of marquee players for the IPL 2025 mega auction. All these players have been included in the list of marquee players at a base price of Rs 2 crore. Shreyas Iyer, under whose captaincy Kolkata Knight Riders won the trophy in IPL 2024, has not been retained by the franchise this time. Apart from this, all eyes are also on Rishabh Pant who will participate in the auction this time where he is the first choice of many teams.
He has made it to the marquee list of foreign players.
The marquee list of overseas players for the mega auction includes the names of Kagiso Rabada, South Africa’s David Miller, England’s Liam Livingston and Jos Buttler and Australia’s fast bowler Mitchell Starc. Among these, David Miller is the only player who has kept his base price at Rs 1.50 crore, apart from this, the base price of the remaining four players is Rs 2 crore.
