Yashvardhan Dalal has performed brilliantly while playing for Haryana in the Under-23 CK Naidu Trophy. He has achieved a feat in this tournament that no one has been able to do in the entire tournament till date. Yashvardhan has created history by scoring 428 runs against Mumbai. He is the first batsman to cross the 400 mark in the history of the tournament since the 1973-74 season.
Sameer Rizvi’s record was broken
Yashvardhan Dalal, who came to open from Haryana, played a brilliant innings. He scored 428 runs off 465 balls which included 46 fours and 12 sixes. Yashvardhan has broken the record of Sameer Rizvi playing for Chennai Super Kings. Rizvi, who played for Uttar Pradesh last season, scored 312 off just 266 balls against Saurashtra, which was the highest score in the tournament, now Yashvardhan has surpassed him.
Arsh Ranga also scored a century
In the match, Mumbai won the toss and decided to bowl first which proved to be wrong. In this match, Haryana’s batsmen performed brilliantly. The opening pair of Yashvardhan Dalal and Arsh Ranga scored 410 runs for the first wicket. It seemed that the Haryana team would score big in the match. Arsh Ranga played an innings of 151 runs during which he hit 18 fours and one six. Mumbai bowlers flopped badly against these batsmen. But Arsh was dismissed by Mumbai bowler Atharva Bhosale.
Even after Arsh Ranga got out, Yashvardhan continued his explosive batting from the other end. Due to this, the team declared the innings on the second day after scoring 742 runs for eight wickets. Atharva Bhosale was the most talented bowler for Mumbai, taking 5 wickets for 129 runs in 58 overs. Other than that, other bowlers also could not show much success.
