Trump team member claims Mike Rogers won’t get FBI Kash Patel then?

Is Kush Patel now a top contender for FBI chief?

President-elect Donald Trump has some plans to shake up leadership at the FBI with two top posts, and two of the top potential names doing the rounds were Mike Rogers, a former FBI special agent and former Michigan congressman; and Kash Patel, a controversial MAGA loyalist. But now Donald Trump’s Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino has revealed this Mike Rogers was not considered.
“Just talked to President Trump about Mike Rogers going to the FBI. It’s not happening – in his own words, ‘I’ve never even considered it.’ Not happening,” Scavino wrote on X. Donald Trump Jr shared Dan Scavino’s post and wrote ‘winner’.
Don Jr. posted, “Also relax about every rumor you hear online. Don’t believe everything you read is true until the release comes out. He said if it looks like we missed something vague like this Being, sure show it,” Don Jr. posted.

Trump had planned to fire Christopher Wray if he was elected but has not yet nominated anyone for the position because he would need a new director who would be both MAGA loyal and Senate confirmed.
Experts are divided over Mike Rogers and Kash Patel because former Trump FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe said no part of the FBI’s mission is safe with Kash Patel in any leadership position at the FBI. He said Mike Rogers would be a good choice.
CNN reported that Trump interviewed multiple candidates for the FBI job at his Mar-a-Lago. The report said that Trump is getting pressure from right-wing allies to name Kush Patel to the top post in the bureau but there are some concerns about Patel. Patel was lobbying for the FBI director post where he would try to investigate Trump’s political enemies, revealing sensitive information.
