Washington: Prominent Pakistani-American businessman Sajid Tarar, a supporter of Donald Trump, has said that the newly elected US President has no personal relationship with former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan. Muslim for Trump head Sajid Tarar also said Trump would strengthen ties with India and keep a close eye on allegations of human rights violations in Bangladesh.
Imran Khan is in jail
“An impression is being created by a certain party in Pakistan that he (Khan) has personal relations with Donald Trump,” Tarar told PTI in an interview. This is not true. The truth is that during his tenure as President, Trump had invited Khan to the ‘White House’ (the official residence and office of the US President) on the invitation of the Prime Minister of Pakistan to ensure that the jail would not interfere in the internal affairs of Pakistan or its judiciary. Khan was arrested last year after pleading guilty in a corruption case, since then he has been in jail in various cases.

Trump is aware of the development of Bangladesh
Tarar also said that Trump is aware of developments in South Asia, including Bangladesh. He said Trump knows that Mohammad Yunus, chief adviser to Bangladesh’s interim government, openly endorsed Hillary Clinton against him when she was running for president in 2016. He said Yunus had met (US) President Joe Biden and former President Bill Clinton during his recent visit to America. Days before the US election on November 5, Trump issued a statement condemning “human rights violations” against Hindus in Bangladesh. (language)
