Uproar over Chinmay Prabhu’s arrest in Bangladesh, attacks on Hindus again; many injured

Attack on Bangladesh Hindus: Violence has once again erupted in Bangladesh. The situation is worsening after the arrest of Chittagong ISKCON Pundarik Dham president Chinmoy Krishnan Das. People from the Hindu community took to the streets to protest the arrest of Chinmoy Prabhu, during which BNP and Jamaat activists attacked him. More than 50 people of Hindu community have been injured in this attack. People from the Hindu community and Professor Kushal Baran of Chittagong University have also been attacked during a peaceful gathering in Dhaka’s Shahbagh. He was seriously injured in the attack. Many people have also been hospitalized.

ISKCON demands exemption

ISKCON posted on X after the arrest of Chinmoy Prabhu. In which I said, we have received disturbing news that the prominent leader of ISKCON Bangladesh, Chinmay Krishna Das, has been arrested by the Dhaka Police. ISKCON appeals to the Government of India to take immediate action and talk to the Government of Bangladesh. We are a peaceful devotional movement. We want the Bangladesh government to release Chinmay Krishna Das soon. We pray to Lord Krishna for the safety of these devotees.

A case of sedition was registered

Let us tell you that on October 30 this year, a case was registered under the Sedition Act against 19 people including Chinmay Krishna Das Prabhu for insulting the national flag in Bangladesh. Two people have also been arrested in this case. It is alleged that on October 25, the Sanatan Jagran Manch organized a rally at Laldighi Ground in Chittagong with an eight-point demand. Meanwhile, some people hoisted a saffron flag on the Azadi Stambha located at a square. Aami Sanatani was written on this flag. In this regard, Chinmay Krishna Das has been charged with desecration and desecration of the national flag.

Hindus are being targeted in Bangladesh

In the meantime, let us also mention here that Bangladesh Police arrested Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari from Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Monday. Bangladesh’s minority Hindus have been under attack since the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government due to student protests. Hindus and their religious places were targeted during the student agitation. An ISKCON temple located in Khulna, Meherpur, Bangladesh was also targeted. Regarding this attack, Chinmay Prabhu expressed deep concern about the security of Hindu temples.
