US President-elect Donald Trump on Thursday announced the former chief operating officer of PayPal David Sachs His will be the White House Artificial Intelligence And Crypto Czar.
“I am pleased to announce that David O. Sachs will be the White House AI and Crypto Czar. In this important role, David will guide policy for the administration in artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency, two areas critical to the future of American competitiveness.” Trump said in a post on his social media site Truth Social.
“David will focus on making America a clear global leader in both areas. He will protect free speech online and move us away from Big Tech bias and censorship,” he added.
Who is David Sachs?
Talking about his new pick for White House AI, Trump said David Sachs was PayPal’s founding-era COO, part of the legendary “PayPal Mafia”.
David then founded the enterprise software company, Yammer, which was acquired by Microsoft for $1.2 billion. He then founded Kraft Ventures, a venture capital firm based in San Francisco. David is the co-host of the All-In Podcast, a top podcast in tech, where he and his friends discuss economic, political and social issues.
