Cuttack: A clash between two groups on Wednesday evening has sparked tension in Cuttack’s Pattapol area. Five people were injured and several vehicles were damaged in the incident. According to reports, the clash started over an argument over motorcycle parking, which soon turned into a violent clash. Both groups started pelting stones and glass bottles at each other. The local people were frightened to see the deteriorating environment.

The clash started after a minor skirmish

On getting information about the incident, the police force led by DCP Jagmohan Meena reached the spot and brought the situation under control. The fight started after a minor argument, the DCP said. The police calmed down the area in 10-15 minutes and took the injured to hospital. Apart from this, stones and pieces of glass lying on the roads were cleaned.

According to local people, such incidents are nothing new in Pattpol area. A similar clash took place last month during the dissolution of Durga Puja. DCP Jagmohan Meena has assured that concrete steps will be taken to prevent such incidents. It has also been decided to increase patrolling in the area and keep an eye on anti-social elements.

The injured are being treated at a local hospital. There was tension in the area after the clash, but police action has brought the situation back to normal. The incident raises serious questions about the lack of security in the area and the growing activities of anti-social elements. Local people are appealing to the administration to take strict action so that such incidents can be avoided in future.
