Shimla: There was a commotion at the Swami Ramakrishna Ashram in Himachal Pradesh’s Shimla on Saturday night. After prayer and meditation, tensions rose here during a performance by a group. Due to which the situation here has become violent.
What is the whole matter?
It is alleged that ABVP and BJP supporters gathered there and pelted stones. Let us tell you that there have been allegations of attempts to gain control over the administration and operations, which have been denied by the ashram management. The matter is currently pending in the Supreme Court.
SP expressed concern
Shimla Superintendent of Police Sanjiv Kumar Gandhi has expressed concern over the tense situation while confirming the incident. The SP said some people were injured when a group demonstrated after prayers and meditation and it later turned violent. ABVP and BJP supporters gathered there. There was sudden stone pelting by ABVP and BJP supporters.
The SP said that we have registered an FIR under relevant sections in this matter and investigation is on. We are taking the matter seriously. Law and order is our priority. Our team led by Navdeep reached the spot at midnight, maintained peace and ensured security of the property. We resolved the matter by midnight, but suddenly there was stone pelting.
The statement of the secretary of Swami Ramakrishna Ashram has come out
Secretary of Swami Ramakrishna Ashram Tanamhimamanand said, ‘We were given the temple to do religious work. We also told the SP 10 days ago that something like this could happen here. We also went to court but did not get time. When the case was going on in the Supreme Court, the rioters came as devotees and created a ruckus. We want the court to take our decision.
