VRS or transfer, notification to non-Hindu employees in Tirupati temple, what is their number?

Big news related to Tirupati Balaji temple located in Andhra Pradesh has come to light. The newly built Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) here has passed a resolution for non-Hindu employees working in the temple. Under this proposal, non-Hindu employees working in temple boards will have to choose between voluntary retirement (VRS) or transfer to other government departments of Andhra Pradesh. Let us tell you that the Tirupati temple has been in the news for the past several months. Some time ago, there was a big uproar after the news of adulteration in the sacred offerings of the temple.

The TTD Act was amended three times

Let us tell you that TTD is an independent government trust. It manages the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple, the richest Hindu temple in the world. In the recent past, the TTD Act has been amended three times. Its purpose was to stipulate that only Hindus should be employed by temple boards and affiliated institutions. An order issued in 1989 also stated that appointments to TTD-administered posts would be restricted to Hindus only. However, according to sources, non-Hindus continue to work in the organisation. In June 2024, a new government was formed in Andhra Pradesh under the leadership of Chandrababu Naidu. Following the complaints of these alleged Hindu employees, their colleagues are identified by people of other faiths.
