Pakistan created history by winning the third ODI in Perth on Sunday, November 10. Pakistan won the third ODI match by eight wickets. Batting first, the Australian team could not stay at the crease even for 50 overs and were all out for 140 runs in 31.5 overs. Pakistani fast bowlers played an important role in bowling Australia out for such a low score. Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah took 3 wickets each while Haris Rauf gave away 2 batsmen for just 24 runs in 7 overs.
Chasing Australia’s 140, Pakistan’s opening pair gave their team a brilliant start for the second consecutive match and shared an 84-run partnership for the first wicket. Although Sam Ayub scored 42 runs and Abdullah Shafique returned to the pavilion with 37 runs, then captain Mohammad Rizwan combined with Babar Azam to take his team to the target in 26.5 overs.
Pakistan defeated Team India
Thus, the Pakistan team managed to register their first win in a 50-over series against Australia since 2002. Throughout the series, Australia’s batting line-up looked very weak against Pakistan’s fast bowling attack, which resulted in the Kangaroos losing the ODI series at home for the first time in 5 years. The way Pakistan has won this series has become a great record.
A great miracle happened on the soil of Australia
In fact, Australia have only lost 9 series at home in the history of ODI cricket. During this period, only two teams have achieved the feat of beating Australia at home twice in ODIs. The first team is South Africa who won the ODI series at home against Australia in 2009 and 2018. Now Pakistan has become the second team to do so. Pakistan won the ODI series for the first time on Australian soil in 2002. Not only this, Pakistan became the first Asian team to win 2 ODI series against Australia on Australian soil. Even teams like India and Sri Lanka have not been able to achieve this feat so far. India won the only bilateral ODI series against Australia in 2019 in Australia.
