Starlink satellite internet service may be launched in India soon. Elon Musk’s company currently provides satellite internet service in North America, Europe, Australia as well as parts of South America and Asia. Starlink needs regulatory approval in India. The company has applied for this in October 2022 itself. Telecom regulator (TRAI) is soon going to finalize the auction process of satellite spectrum in India, after which the satellite internet service will be launched. Apart from Starlink, companies like Airtel, Jio, Amazon are also waiting to launch satellite internet services in India.
Jio and Airtel’s 5G service
Through Starlink Satellite Internet, users will be provided superfast internet service without any wires. Users will be able to make audio-video calling through internet from anywhere without any restrictions. Indian telecom operators Airtel, Jio, BSNL, Vi provide high speed broadband internet service to users. Jio and Airtel users are also using 5G internet service, where they get internet at superfast speed of 300 to 400 Mbps. Internet speed has even reached 700 Mbps in some places. Now the question is whether Starlink will provide more internet speed than these two companies?

Elon Musk’s company is currently providing its satellite internet service in several countries. The company is providing internet facility to its users at the speed of 50 Mbps to 150 Mbps in the standard plan. At the same time, users in the Priority plan are getting internet at a speed of 220 Mbps. Whereas, the upload speed ranges from 10 Mbps to 20 Mbps. Starlink internet speed may also vary depending on location. However, even at this speed, users can do many things on the internet like HD streaming, online gaming and downloading large files.
