Yashaswi Jaiswal and KL Rahul’s feat repeats 20-year-old record in Australia

India vs Australia 1st Test: The first Test match is being played between India and Australia, on the second day of which Yashshwi Jaiswal and KL Rahul performed brilliantly for India. In the second innings, both the batsmen presented an example of great batting. Against these two players, the Australian bowlers flopped badly and did not perform well. After the end of the second day’s play, the Indian team has scored 172 runs without loss and their total lead has increased to 218 runs.

Both the Indian batsmen scored half-centuries

Yashaswi Jaiswal has completed his century. He is present at the crease with 90 runs and KL Rahul has scored 62 runs. Both batted in a way that no one expected, as it was difficult to bat on this pitch on the first day. Forget scoring runs, it was almost impossible for the batsmen to stand at the crease. Due to this, 17 wickets fell on the first day. The next day, Jaiswal and Rahul did not let Team India suffer any setback. Both of them have scored 172 runs since opening.

Repeating a 20-year-old record

The pair of Yashshwi Jaiswal and KL Rahul became the first Indian opening pair to share a Test century on Australian soil since 2004. In the year 2004, Virender Sehwag and Akash Chopra shared a 123-run opening partnership in the Sydney Test. Now Jaiswal and Rahul have equaled these two players by sharing a century.

Jasprit Bumrah took five wickets in the first innings

Jasprit Bumrah is taking over the captaincy in place of Rohit Sharma in the Test match against Australia. They won the toss and decided to bat first. Team India was restricted to just 150 runs in the first innings. After this, Bumrah returned to Team India by bowling strongly. He took 5 wickets in the first innings. Due to this, the Australian team was bowled out for just 104 runs and thus Team India got a lead of 46 runs.
