Online outrage has erupted after a US-based CEO sacked 99 employees in a single sweep for missing meetings via Slack. A Reddit user, claiming to be a recently hired intern at the company, shared a screenshot of the CEO’s fiery Slack message, which has gone viral on social media.

The company, purportedly a marketplace for musical instruments, has reduced its workforce to just 11 after the CEO, identified as Baldwin, posts a scathing message in the company’s Slack channel. According to the interns, the mass termination came just an hour into their first day on the job.

“Only 11 of the 110 people were present this morning. He gets to stay 11. The rest of you are terminated,” he wrote, ending with a stern directive: “Get the f*** out of my business now.”

“For those of you who were not present at the meeting this morning, consider this your official notice: you are all fired,” the CEO wrote.

He went on to explain: “You failed to do what you agreed to do, you failed to fulfill your part of the contract, and you failed to show up to the meetings you were supposed to attend and work for. I will cancel all contracts between us. Please return anything you own, sign out of all accounts, and remove yourself from this Slack immediately.”

The incident quickly gained traction online, drawing a mixture of shock and skepticism. Some Reddit users speculated that the CEO may have failed to communicate the meeting schedule, leading to widespread absenteeism.

“I guess the CEO failed to inform the team about that meeting. I can’t believe 99 people would skip a meeting if they were properly notified,” one commenter wrote.

Others suggested that financial conflicts may be at the root of the mass shootings. “The company is probably in debt,” one user wrote.

The episode also sparked jokes about toxic workplace leadership. One commenter shared, “I once had the CEO of my company text me through the team at 7pm on a Friday (my shift ends at 5pm). When I came in on Monday, I had five messages all weekend about how I wasn’t a team player.”

The viral post has reignited debates about toxic leadership and workplace culture, with many demanding greater accountability for how companies treat their employees.
