DA Hike Alert: This State Increases Dearness Allowance by 3%, Check Details

The central government of India has recently announced a 3% increase in the Dearness Allowance (DA) for its employees and pensioners, effective from July 1, 2024. This decision, confirmed during a Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, raises the DA from 50% to 53% of the basic pay. This hike is expected to benefit over one crore individuals, providing much-needed financial relief amid rising living costs.

The hike in DA will be effective from July 1, 2024.

The Bihar government on Thursday approved a 3 percent hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) for its employees and pensioners. The state cabinet under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has taken this decision.

The increase will increase DA from 50 to 53 per cent, which will provide better financial support to lakhs of regular employees and pensioners, the Cabinet Secretariat said.

The hike will be effective from July 1, 2024, it said.

The Cabinet also approved a new scheme called ‘Mukhyamantri Grihasthal Kriya Yojana’, under which the Department of Revenue and Land Reforms will give each landless family Rs. 1 lakh will provide financial assistance.

“This one-time financial assistance will be given to eligible landless families to purchase their own land in the state,” the proposal approved by the cabinet said.

The Cabinet gave its nod for maintenance and upgradation of rural roads after completion of post-construction maintenance contracts by contractors.

It has also sanctioned Rs 120.58 crore for acquisition of 50.50 acres of land for development of tourist facilities and basic infrastructure near Punaura Dham Janaki temple in Sitamarhi district.
