Fixing and cricket have a very old relationship. Every day in cricket some issue comes to light regarding fixing. Many times players lose matches to their team due to fixing. Many times players have been seen spot-fixing with no balls, extra runs or deliberate dismissals. Meanwhile, something happened during a big tournament that has once again raised many questions. For some people this smacks of fixing. A player has given 30 runs on 3 legal balls in this tournament. The player is none other than former Sri Lankan captain and star Dasun Shanaka. Dasun Shanaka bowled several no balls in an over during the Abu Dhabi T10 League. Due to which he has come under the scanner. Fans on social media are calling it spot fixing.
Three balls and 30 runs
A match was played between Delhi Bulls and Bangla Tigers in the Abu Dhabi T10 League. Delhi team was batting in this match. Sri Lankan Dasun Shanaka was bowling for the Bangla Tigers. Dasun Shanaka came to bowl the 9th over in this match. Meanwhile, he spent 30 runs on the first three balls. Although he made a comeback in the next three balls and conceded just three runs, his first three deliveries of that over were quite surprising. He hit a legal ball for four before the over. After this he bowled two consecutive no balls. Where he hit two fours. Shanaka then bowled two legal balls. On which he hit a four and a six. Even after this, Shanaka did not stop and he again bowled the next two balls. Where a four was hit on his ball.
The no ball had created controversy earlier too
The no-ball issue has already sparked controversy in the Abu Dhabi T10 League. A match was played between Samp Army and New York Strikers. UAE cricketer Hazrat Bilal bowled the next big no-ball in this match. Which has put him in the circle of many questions. Even his teammates couldn’t believe it after seeing this no ball. Australia’s star batsman David Warner posted this on his ex and wrote, Abu Dhabi League, was it really a free hit??? Many other cricketers reacted to this.
