Haryana youth arrested for sexually assaulting woman on flight from Delhi to Goa

A woman has accused her co-passenger of sexual harassment on a flight from the capital Delhi to Goa. Police have arrested a 23-year-old youth in this case. Officials informed about this incident on Wednesday. According to the police, the incident took place on an Air India flight between 11 am and 1.20 am on Tuesday. What happened on the flight?

The victim, a 28-year-old resident of Delhi, has alleged before the police that the man sitting next to her on a Goa-bound Air India flight covered her with a blanket and then allegedly started performing an offensive act. According to the FIR, the accused deliberately kept the blanket open towards the victim in the flight.

The accused is a resident of Panipat in Haryana

According to reports, the woman lodged a police complaint against the accused co-passenger when the flight landed at the international airport in Dabolim, south of Goa. After this, the police took action in the case and arrested the accused. According to information, the accused youth is a resident of Haryana’s Panipat district.

Informing about the incident, the police have said that a case has been registered under Section 75 (section imposed under sexual harassment) and Section 79 (act done with intent to outrage the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code.
