IND vs AUS: Only 2 players had done this record before today, now Kohli has created history

The pride of the Australian team is about to be shattered at Optus Stadium in Perth. At the end of the third day of play in the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 against India, hosts Australia were three wickets down for 12 while chasing a target of 534 runs. From the first day of this Test match, the dominance of Team India has been seen, in which the Australian team has not got any chance to come back even once. The third day of the Perth Test saw two centuries from Team India, one from Yasshwi Jaiswal and the other from Virat Kohli. Kohli has not been able to play big innings in Test cricket for a long time, due to which he faced criticism, but now Kohli has answered all with the bat and scored his 30th Test century.

After Sachin and Ponting, Virat Kohli became the third player to do so.

When Virat Kohli came to bat in the second session on the third day of the Perth Test, Team India was in a very strong position and Kohli took advantage and batted cautiously at first and then found his feet. And during this period Kohli was supported by Washington Sundar and Nitish Reddy. In which both of them put the Australian bowlers completely on the back foot by batting aggressively. Kohli played an unbeaten innings of 100 off 143 balls which included 8 fours and 2 sixes. With this century, Kohli also achieved a major achievement, becoming the third player after Sachin Tendulkar and Ricky Ponting to score 30 or more centuries in both Tests and ODIs.

Sachin Tendulkar – 51 Test centuries, 49 ODI centuries
