Jai Shah criticized the decision, demanding action from the ICC on PCB’s ridiculous move

Currently, one of the biggest debates in world cricket is the organization of the ICC Champions Trophy, whether the tournament will be held in Pakistan or hosted by another country. Meanwhile, on November 15, a nefarious act by the Pakistan Cricket Board i.e. PCB raised the ire of all Indian fans, including the BCCI. In fact, the PCB had announced to take the Champions Trophy on a tour across the country, including its tour to Pakistan Occupied Kashmir i.e. PoK, which was strongly objected to by the BCCI in the ICC and later allowed by the PCB. Had to cancel to do so. At the same time, BCCI Secretary Jai Shah has spoken to the ICC officials to condemn the PCB’s move and take action against them.

Jai Shah has demanded strict action from the ICC

Regarding the Pakistan Cricket Board’s action, a BCCI official in his statement to PTI on condition of confidentiality said that BCCI Secretary Jai Shah had called the ICC and requested the PCB to conduct the trophy tour to some cities under Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. This move was severely criticized. It has urged the ICC to take strict action. There is no issue as far as Islamabad is concerned. But the trophy cannot travel to Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. Let us tell you that the trophy tour is a part of ICC’s promotional campaign which includes visiting several cities discussed between the international organization and the host country.

PCB announced the trophy tour plan without discussion

The PCB did not hold any discussions with anyone regarding the travel arrangements of the ICC Champions Trophy and announced on its official social media on the night of 14 November that the trophy would be taken to Skardu, Murree and Hunza, the areas under dispute. Area PCB wrote in its tweet that PCB tweeted, “Get ready, Pakistan! The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 trophy tour will begin on November 16 in Islamabad and will also visit tourist destinations like Skardu, Murree, Hunza and Muzaffarabad. In a statement given to PTI by the ICC Board regarding the PCB’s move, they said that the trophy tour is still under discussion. I don’t know whether PCB informed everyone about these four cities or not. But if not it was definitely not worth it. I don’t think ICC will allow PCB to take the trophy to a disputed area.
