Pakistan: Red zone created in Islamabad, protesters ordered to shoot on sight

Opposition to Pakistan PTI: Imran Khan’s supporters in Pakistan have added to the woes of the Shahbaz Sharif government. Activists of ‘Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’ (PTI) have launched a major agitation demanding Khan’s release from jail. PTI activists from across the country are marching towards Islamabad due to which the situation is going out of control. News of violence is also coming from many places. Following Imran Khan’s orders, they are heading to the capital to stage a ‘do or die’ protest against the current government from Sunday.

Orders to fire on sight

A red zone has been created in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, in view of the demonstration of PTI supporters. Pakistani army has been deployed in the red zone. Within the red zone are government offices, the Prime Minister’s residence, parliament and embassies. A clear order has been given that any protester seen around the red zone should be shot on sight. The number of people protesting is more than 30000.

Imran met PTI leaders

Meanwhile, let us also mention here that the leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf met Imran Khan in Adiala Jail on Monday. Khan, 72, has been lodged in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail since last year and has more than 200 cases registered against him, according to his party. In some of them Khan has been granted bail, in some he has been convicted and in some the trial is going on.
