ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is less than 100 days away, but the tournament has not yet been officially announced, the biggest reason behind which is the Indian team’s refusal to travel to Pakistan to play the tournament after the BCCI’s refusal to host the ICC Champions Trophy with other teams. While discussing the schedule, there were also reports that the tournament might be held at some other venue outside Pakistan.
There was no discussion about changing the venue
The ICC is discussing playing the tournament on a hybrid model after India refused to go to Pakistan, however, reports are surfacing that the PCB is not ready for this and if it backs out, the tournament will be handed over to the South. Can go to Africa. However, according to news agency PTI, there was no discussion regarding the change of venue in the ICC meeting held on November 12. Let us tell you that earlier on November 11, ICC was supposed to announce the official schedule of Champions Trophy 2025 at an event in Lahore but it was cancelled. According to PTI, PCB is not in favor of holding Champions Trophy matches outside the country, even in UAE.
PCB wrote to ICC
A letter has been written by the Pakistan Cricket Board to the ICC in which they have sought a written reply on the reason behind BCCI not sending Team India to Pakistan. The PCB wrote in its letter that there was no security issue as the England and earlier New Zealand teams had toured Pakistan, which they had successfully organised. No reply has been given by the ICC to this letter from the PCB. India is set to play its matches in the tournament under a hybrid model, in which it can play matches in the UAE or Sri Lanka.
