Boston: A young man has shocked even the security agencies by making public the confidential documents of the Pentagon, considered to be the most secure in America. It contains confidential military documents and other important files on the Ukraine war. A federal judge in Boston has convicted a Massachusetts Air National Guard soldier of the crime.
The court sentenced him to 15 years in prison for leaking highly classified military documents and others related to the Ukraine war. US District Judge Indira Talwani handed down the sentence to 22-year-old Jack Teixeira for leaking classified military documents. Teixeira pleaded guilty earlier this year to six counts of knowingly collecting and disseminating national defense information. Teixeira appeared composed during the sentencing hearing.
The guilty man apologized for his actions
Before the sentencing, he apologized for his actions. “I want to say I’m sorry for the hurt I’ve caused,” Teixeira said, adding that he apologized to his family, friends and anyone affected by his actions. Teixeira, 22, admitted that he illegally collected some of the country’s most classified intelligence information and shared it on the social media platform ‘Discord’. (language)
