This bowler has done a great feat in Test cricket, breaking Ravichandran Ashwin’s record

The first match of the 2-match Test series between South Africa and Sri Lanka is being played at the Durban ground, with the second day’s play seeing a lot of excitement so far. In this match, the spin bowler of the Sri Lankan team, Prabhat Jayasuriya managed to achieve a great achievement in which he has now become the bowler who has taken 100 wickets in the fewest matches in Test cricket for Sri Lanka. In this matter, Prabhat has broken the record of his countryman Dilruan Perera, in which he completed his 100 wickets in 25 Tests. Apart from this, he has now become the joint second bowler in world cricket to achieve this feat in just 17 Tests.

Prabhat Jayasuriya became the third spinner to complete 100 wickets in just 17 Tests.

As for Prabhat Jayasuriya, he is currently playing the role of main spinner in Sri Lanka’s Tests, which he reached when he took the wicket of Tony DeGeorge in South Africa’s second innings in the Durban Test match. Successfully completed his 100th Test wicket. Prabhat took just 32 innings to reach this figure. Along with this, he also became the third spinner in the history of Test cricket to take 100 wickets at the fastest pace in as few matches. Earlier, Australia’s Clary Grimmett did this feat in 17 Test matches and after that Pakistan’s spinner Yasir Shah also managed to take his 100 wickets in 17 Test matches. If we look at the record of fastest 100 wicket taker from India, it is in the name of Ravichandran Ashwin who completed his 100 wickets in 18 Test matches.
