In the Hulu documentary, which premiered on November 18, Shine reported that DD’s current legal troubles mirrored his past actions. In an interview promoting the documentary, Shine reportedly expressed her disappointment with DD, claiming that DD had ruined her life and caused significant hardship for her family. He shared that, during his jail term, he felt abandoned by DD while others celebrated the music mogul’s success.

He explained that his decision to reunite with DD during his 2022 performance at the BET Awards was primarily to promote Belize on the international stage, although he admitted to being hesitant about the collaboration.
