After the crushing defeat in the Maharashtra assembly elections, there are fears of a split in the Mahavikas Aghadi. Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena (UBT) may contest the upcoming municipal corporation and local bodies elections single-handedly. Uddhav Thackeray may decide to quit Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA) soon.
What do MVA leaders say?
Discussions have started on Shiv Sena (UBT) party leaving MVA. A leader of the Uddhav Thackeray faction has said that he is planning to contest the municipal elections separately. Shiv Sena can fight all elections alone in future. State Congress president Nana Patole yesterday refused to speak on Shiv Sena’s Uddhav stand, while Balasaheb Thorat and Vijay Vadettiwar said all parties had the right to contest separately. For this the parties can change their stand.
Pressure on Uddhav to quit MVA
Shiv Sena (UBT) is gearing up to contest the upcoming municipal corporation and local body elections alone. Shiv Sena (UBT) workers as well as candidates who lost the elections and those who won have also requested Uddhav Thackeray to leave the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) soon. However, Uddhav Thackeray has not taken any decision yet. Eknath Shinde and forty MLAs with him have revolted due to forming government with Congress and shocked Uddhav, what decision Uddhav takes in such a situation remains to be seen.
What did Sanjay Raut say?
When Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut was asked whether Shiv Sena will contest the next BMC elections alone or as part of MVA? So he said – “Why are you guys worried? Now the results of the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections are out. We will see, we know what to do. MVA leaders are capable of taking a decision on the BMC elections.”
