A case has come to light that a married woman from Tentuligaon of Zarigaon block of Nabarangpur district of Odisha was abducted and taken to Maharashtra where she was physically and mentally abused. It is alleged that the woman was forced to have relations with many people. The woman was kept under house arrest for 14 days.

Vasudev Kaler of the same village forcibly abducted the woman. First the woman was taken to Raipur, then to Gangapur village, about 170 km from Nagpur in Maharashtra. There, she was locked in the house and forced to have physical intercourse and undergo mental torture.

Called the husband and told the whole incident.

The woman was imprisoned in the house, but a conversation she overheard through the window revealed that preparations were being made to sell her. Hearing this, the woman somehow climbed over the wall behind the house and reached a dhaba on the National Highway, 5 kilometers away. There she called her husband and informed about the entire incident.

A case of kidnapping and rape was reported

The woman’s husband immediately contacted Kadambini Tripathi, president of the Matrasreya Ashram. A team of four people led by Kadambini reached Maharashtra with the help of the police and rescued the woman. After being released, the woman lodged a complaint with the police. He filed a case of kidnapping and rape against accused Vasudev Kalar.

Demand to stop women trafficking racket

In this regard, President of Matrasreya Ashram Kadambini Tripathi has demanded immediate arrest of the accused and strict action to stop the active women trafficking racket behind this incident.
