IPL 2025 Mega Auction: Ahead of the Indian Premier League i.e. IPL season to be played in the year 2025, a mega auction was organized in the city of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on November 24 and 25, in which all the franchises arrived with their own strategies. Fans will see many of their favorite players playing for other teams next season, while many players have become part of their old teams again. The amount spent this time in the IPL Mega Auction 2025 certainly blew everyone’s minds, proving once again why this is the most expensive T20 league in the entire cricketing world. This time Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer were sold as the most expensive players in the mega auction.
This time, so many crores of rupees were spent in the mega auction
This time around the IPL mega auction was also featuring a lot of big players who were already being speculated that franchises are ready to shell out big bucks on them and that’s what it turned out to be. When Lucknow Supergiants paid Rs. 27 crores, while Punjab Kings spent Rs. 26.75 crore was spent. This time in the mega auction a total of Rs. 639.15 crore was spent, breaking all previous records and being the highest amount spent in any auction in the history of IPL.
A total of 182 players were bid in the auction.
A total of 577 players were shortlisted in the IPL Mega Auction this time, out of which 182 players got bids, out of which 62 players are foreigners. This time in the auction, Chennai Super Kings, Gujarat Titans and Punjab Kings managed to include the maximum number of players in their squad, which is 25. This time the IPL auction had a lot of big names with none of the franchises showing interest, the biggest name being David Warner.
