According to information received from the franchise, the BCCI has told them that each set will have two marquee lists of 8-9 players. While it is not unusual for a mega-auction to have two sets of marquee players, previous major players in 2022 had only one. However, there were two sets in the 2018 and 2014 auctions. The mega auction will be held at Jeddah’s Abadi Al Johar Arena, also known as the Benchmark Arena.
The players will be showered with money in the mega auction
Each marquee player has his base price of Rs. 2 crore has been kept. In such a scenario, it is expected that by the end of the first two sets, 30 to 50 percent of the available auction purse will be spent. Each franchisee is likely to acquire at least two big names, costing an average of Rs. May be between 20-25 crores. All franchisees have recently spent an estimated Rs. 1200 crore out of Rs. 558.5 crore has been spent.
Punjab Kings have the biggest purse
The BCCI has asked the franchises to suggest new names that they want to include in the auction. The franchises have also been asked to reply to the register by November 12 about the players they want to include in the final list. If each franchise has a maximum of 25 players in the squad, 204 players will be bought in the auction, of which 70 may be foreign players. Punjab Kings will enter the auction with the highest purse. He has more than 110 crore rupees in his purse.
