Bihar’s 13-year-old player gets crores of rupees in IPL, team opens coffers before auction ends

The auction was held in Jeddah for IPL 2025. A player from Bihar dominated in this auction. This player is only 13 years old. Earlier in the history of IPL, such a young player was not bought. This player is none other than Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Vaibhav Suryavanshi plays domestic cricket for the Bihar team. Recently, he performed brilliantly in Under-19 cricket and scored a brilliant century against Australia. Due to which it came into the limelight and found a buyer at the auction.

Rajasthan Royals have made the highest bid for Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Rajasthan Royals team has bid Rs 1.10 crore for him. It was available in this auction at a base price of Rs 30 lakh. There was stiff competition for him in the auction between Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals. Eventually Rajasthan included him in their team. His age is 13 years and 244 days. He will be 14 years old when he plays IPL. At such a young age, he will get a chance to play with the big players of the world. He played an innings of 104 runs off 62 balls against the Australia Under-19 team in Chennai.

It has been an amazing career

Suryavanshi made headlines by scoring a century for India U-19 in an unofficial Test against Australia U-19 in Chennai. The 13-year-old Suryavanshi scored a century in just 58 balls, which was the fastest for India’s under-19 team in red-ball cricket. He was also the youngest batsman to score an international century at the age of 13.

Vaibhav has played five first class matches and one T20 match for Bihar. He has scored 100 runs in 5 FC matches, with 41 being the highest score. He has scored just 13 runs in the only T20 in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy against Rajasthan. The left-handed batsman made his first-class debut in a Ranji Trophy Elite match against Mumbai in January 2024. He was born on 27 March 2011 in Tajpur village of Bihar.
