Nadjamena: Saturday brought a message of death for Boko Haram militants in the African country of Chad. According to emerging reports, Boko Haram attacked soldiers in the western part of Chad on Saturday. A total of 17 jawans were martyred in this attack. The army said Boko Haram suffered heavy losses in the retaliatory operation and killed 96 of its militants. Let us tell you that until a few years ago, Chadian army normalized the situation by conducting operations against Boko Haram terrorists, but now they have started raising their heads again.
Terrorists have suffered a lot
Briefing the terrorist attack on state television on Sunday night, army spokesman General Isaac Acikh said that Boko Haram carried out the attack on Saturday in the ‘Lake Chad’ area. He did not elaborate anything about this. However, recent reports revealed that 17 soldiers were killed in the attack, while the terrorists also suffered heavy losses. Let us tell you that so far this year, terrorists of various terrorist organizations, including Boko Haram and the Islamic State in Africa, have attacked the Lake Chad area many times.
Chad is a partner of France and America
Chad’s army restored peace in 2020 by carrying out a successful operation to destroy terrorist hideouts, but violence and a climate of fear once again prevails. Last month, 40 jawans were martyred in an attack on an army base. After that, President Mahamat Debi Itno ordered the launch of an operation to evict Boko Haram terrorists from the Lake Chad region. Chad is a key ally for French and US forces seeking help fighting a 12-year-old jihadist insurgency in West Africa’s Sahel region.
