IPL 2025 Auction: Before the Indian Premier League i.e. IPL season to be held in the year 2025, a mega auction is being organized in the city of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in which a lot of money is being showered on Indian players. One name in this is that of Team India’s young wicketkeeper batsman Jitesh Sharma, who was seen playing for the Punjab Kings team in the last IPL season, now he will be seen playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore i.e. RCB team in the next season. In the mega auction of IPL 2025, Jitesh Sharma got a place in the wicketkeeper batsman slot, in which his base price was Rs 1 crore. When his name was called, Chennai Super Kings showed interest in signing him, with RCB having made up their minds to take Jitesh from the start. After this, RCB also engaged in a bidding war with Lucknow Supergiants and Delhi Capitals for Jitesh Sharma, which closed at Rs 7 crore. After this, Punjab Kings, who was a part of Jitesh last season, decided to use RTM and RCB directly priced Jitesh at Rs 11 crore and Punjab also pulled out and thus RCB managed to make Jitesh a part of their team.
As for Jitesh, he was a part of the Mumbai Indians team in the 2016 and 2017 IPL seasons but did not get a chance to play a single match. After this, in the year 2022, Jitesh was included in their team by Punjab Kings for 20 lakh rupees and also got the chance to make his IPL debut in the same season. From here Jitesh did not look back and impressed everyone with his performance. Jitesh Sharma’s salary in the last season of IPL was also Rs 20 lakhs, which has now directly increased to Rs 11 crores and hence has seen an increase of 5500 percent.
