The match between India and Australia is going to be played in Perth from November 22 for which all the preparations are almost complete. The match will be played at Optus Stadium in Perth. The biggest question on the minds of players and fans of both teams ahead of this match is what Perth’s pitch will be. Here the bowlers will win or the batsman will be successful in winning the match. Now the Pitch Curator himself has answered this question. WACA’s Chief Pitch Curator Isaac MacDonald has made a big revelation about the pitch for the first Test match.
Fast bowlers will be in focus
Pitch Curator Isaac MacDonald said unseasonal rain in Perth had affected pitch preparation for the first Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy. Because of this they no longer expect pitch curve cracks to form. However, he is optimistic that the bowlers will get a lot of bounce from the pitch. Optus Stadium pitches are known for their fast pace and bounce. The cracks created on this pitch in dry conditions help the fast bowlers a lot. However, due to rain for the past few days, the pitch remained under cover all day on November 19, leaving no time for the curators to prepare. In such a situation, the pitch is expected to remain moist on the day of the match so there is no chance of it breaking up over the five days of the Test.
What will be the strategy of Team India?
Recently, an ODI match was played here between Pakistan and the host Australia. In that match, the Pakistani fast bowlers did a great job and bowled out the Australian team for just 140 runs. There was four mm of grass on the pitch then but it could double during the first Test between India and Australia. In such conditions, it is expected that there will be more speed and bounce on the pitch. Considering the grass and speed on the pitch, Team India will field only one spinner in the first Test match. Now it will be seen that apart from Jasprit Bumrah, which bowlers are included in the playing eleven as fast bowlers.
