Dubai: Highlighting the cooperation between India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in areas such as fintech, renewable energy, infrastructure and defence, Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Thursday said that relations between the two countries have reached new heights. Speaking at the inauguration of the Symbiosis International (Deemed University) campus here, Jaishankar emphasized how Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s maiden visit to the UAE in 2015 marked a new beginning in bilateral relations between the two countries.
India-UAE relations are in a new era
Jaishankar said, “India-UAE relations are truly in a new era today. Just as Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a historic visit in 2015, the first visit of a century, our comprehensive economic partnership is also at historic levels.” Jaishankar said the opening of the Symbiosis campus in Dubai is part of a broader trend that reflects the growing educational and cultural exchange between India and the UAE.
‘India needs to be prepared’
The External Affairs Minister said, “India needs to prepare for the global workplace today. “At the same time, it has to be ready for the era of chips, ‘electric mobility’, clean and green technology, renewable energy, space and roads.” Jaishankar said that India has to manage the development of these possibilities in an environment-friendly and market-friendly manner. He said that quality education will give us the unique ability to keep pace with the world and advance national prospects.
