Islamabad: On the orders of the Pakistan government, the authorities have taken strict action against the demonstration of the party of the jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan. According to the plan, authorities have banned all gatherings of five or more people in the capital and surrounding areas for two months. This move by the authorities in Islamabad may have already put an end to the demonstration of Imran Khan’s supporters.
PTI announced the demonstration
Let us tell you that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) announced the demonstration last week. The PTI said a demonstration would be held in Islamabad on November 24 to press the government to release its founder Imran Khan, who has been in jail for more than a year. After the announcement of the demonstration, the government imposed Section 144 in Islamabad, which prohibits gathering of people.

Section 144 applies
According to various instructions issued by Islamabad District Magistrate Usman Ashraf’s office, Section 144 has been invoked because some elements of the society are planning to assemble illegally which may disturb public peace. Under the notification, public gatherings of five or more people are prohibited as they may ‘endanger public peace and harmony, endanger human life and safety’.
‘Public properties may be damaged’
The notification said that people who are planning to assemble illegally may cause damage to public property and pose a threat to the general public. Such people may also commit riots or riots including communal riots within the revenue/territorial limits of Islamabad district. (language)
