In line with the Union government’s flagship program Digital India, citizens will soon get a new PAN card with QR code facility as the Center has announced the Income Tax Department’s PAN 2.0 project.
An e-governance project for re-engineering the business processes of taxpayer enrollment services, PAN 2.0 will be an upgrade of the existing PAN/TAN 1.0 eco-system that will integrate core and non-core PAN/TAN activities as well as PAN validation service. . It will ensure technology driven transformation of PAN/TAN services for enhanced digital experience of taxpayers.
