Star Indian players out of Australia tour, BCCI announces replacements

India Women vs Australia Women: The Indian women’s cricket team will tour Australia in December to play a three-match ODI series. BCCI had already announced the team for this. Harmanpreet Kaur got the responsibility of captaincy, but now the Indian team has suffered a big blow even before the tour. While wicketkeeper batsman Yastika Bhatia is out of Australia tour due to injury.

Uma Chhetri got the place

Yastika Bhatia suffered a wrist injury in the Women’s Big Bash League. The medical team of BCCI has confirmed this. His recovery is now being closely monitored. The women’s selection committee has included Uma Chhetri in the squad in her place. BCCI has given this information by tweeting.

Uma Chhetri has played only four T20Is

Uma Chhetri is less experienced than Yastika Bhatia. The 22-year-old Uma made her T20 International debut for Team India this year and has played only 4 T20 International matches for the Indian team in which she has scored 9 runs. Bhatia, on the other hand, has played 19 T20Is for the team, scoring 214 runs. However, it is difficult for Uma to make a place in the playing eleven, as Team India has a wicketkeeper in the form of Richa Ghosh.
